You know, I’m very flattered that some of you enjoy the books so much that you feel inspired to engage with the writing in a more personal way than most readers do. Both for legal and personal reasons, though, I’m not comfortable with fan-fiction based on any of my work, and request that you do not write it, do not send it to me, and do not publish it, whether in print or on the web. Thank you very much for your consideration.

GO TELL THE BEES THAT I AM GONE (aka “BEES”) will be the ninth book in my OUTLANDER series of major novels, which focus on Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser. I am currently working on the writing and historical research for this new novel.

This is the only official website for Diana Gabaldon, bestselling author of the OUTLANDER series of major novels, the Lord John series, and other works.

Yes… GO TELL THE BEES THAT I AM GONE (nicknamed “BEES”) is the ninth book in my OUTLANDER series of major novels, which I am writing (and doing the research for) now.

Will there be a ninth major Outlander novel?

Do I know exactly when BEES will be finished? No. I am working on it now; my books take at least 3-4 years to research and write. I am hoping to finish writing BEES by the end of 2018, but no publication date is set yet by myself or my publisher. A publication date will be posted on this website when known.

Excerpts (aka “Daily Lines”) from—and information about—BEES are posted on my BEES official webpage as they are released. Also, I often post the same excerpts on my official social media pages and accounts.

The Poisoned Pen bookstore sells new copies of all of my books, signed by me, and they ship anywhere in the world! (There is no extra charge for my signature.) More information.

BEES follows WRITTEN IN MY OWN HEART’S BLOOD, aka “MOBY,” the eighth novel in my OUTLANDER series, which was first published in the U.S. in 2014.

On October 23, 2018, Penguin Random House released a beautiful, new, lavishly produced hardcover edition of VOYAGER, on the 25th anniversary of its first publication. It is the third major novel in my OUTLANDER series.
