According to Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier, state police, Aliquippa police and the Beaver County detectives were called at about 10:45 p.m. Sunday to Buchanan Street, just off Brodhead Road in Aliquippa for a reported shooting.

In a Facebook post Monday morning, Aliquippa Mayor Dwan Walker identified the victim as Rachael Deltondo, of Aliquippa. Walker extended his sympathy to her family.

Officials at the Aliquippa Police Department on Monday afternoon said they were unable to confirm any details. According to court records, no charges had been filed in the case as of Monday evening.

The juvenile, who is named in the incident report, is now a legal adult. School officials said records indicate he was never a registered student at PA Cyber.

According to the incident report, police were on regular patrol at about 1:50 a.m. Feb. 6, 2016 when an officer noticed a car parked near the old Aliquippa Hospital property. Police said officers approached the vehicle and noticed “the windows were steamed over and the engine was not running.”

Lozier did not identify Deltondo, saying only that a woman pronounced dead at the scene.

“All we’re saying is this is an ongoing homicide investigation,” he said.

The Beaver County Coroner’s Office confirmed Deltondo's identity Monday evening after an autopsy. Coroner David Gabauer said Deltondo, 33, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to her torso, and he ruled her death a homicide.

Deltondo was never charged in the case.

Police said Deltondo told them “she didn’t want her fiancé to know that she was here parked because he would get mad.” She maintained she was only with the teen because “he was upset and needed someone to talk to,” police said.

According to the report, officers drove the teen home and told Deltondo that there were “better places to just talk with a former student.”

Neighbors in the area reported hearing between 10 and 12 shots fired and said the woman was shot just outside her home.

“I am sending my deepest condolences to her family and friends,” he wrote. “RWG (Rest with god) Rachael [sic] Deltondo.”

The incident, ultimately, led to Deltondo’s suspension from her position pending an investigation by the school. Officials at PA Cyber were not available Monday to confirm Deltondo’s recent employment status.

The officer identified Deltondo and asked why she and the juvenile were parked there, police said. According to the report, Deltondo told officers “she was just talking with the male,” who was her previous student, and “they were friends.”
